Project News – Tank Installation | CTO Australia

CTO Australia successfully executed the inland transport, offloading, and installation of a large stainless-steel process tank received from Germany. Delivered on a 40FR OOG (40-foot Flat Rack – Dims: 820 x 390 x 480 cms).

Oversize Transport & Road Movement

The tank was offloaded at a port facility due to road restrictions and then transported from the island to the customer’s facility as an oversize load using a multi-axle extendable low-loader trailer, fitted with engineered timber cradles and secured using certified chains and tie-down equipment. Movement permits were arranged in accordance with local road authority requirements, and the cargo was escorted throughout the journey to comply with oversize transport regulations to site.

Offload & Installation

Upon arrival at site, CTO coordinated a tandem-lift operation using a hydraulic mobile crane setup with certified rigging gear and spreader bars. The tank was vertically offloaded with controlled lifting and manoeuvred into the laydown bay. Shrink-wrap protective packaging was carefully removed, and the unit was lowered onto the prepared footing area with millimetre precision.
All lifting activities were carried out under a detailed lift plan.
